SD-WAN – The VPN of the future

Virtually flexible and efficient

SD-WAN The VPN of the future

SD-WAN modernizes corporate networks through virtualization and central control. Data traffic is intelligently routed, managed and secured: for greater agility and lower costs.

The question: When will you modernize your company network with SD-WAN?

SD-WAN is a company-owned WAN solution that is optimized using Software Defined Networking (SDN). Company traffic is routed efficiently and securely through the internet. Monitoring and management are handled as cloud applications and no longer physically from the end device on site. Flexible and agile network management is abstracted from a preconfigured “virtual overlay”. In short: SD-WAN means virtualization of the network.

For which company is SD-WAN the right solution?

In principle, it is suitable for any company that operates several locations and attaches great importance to continuous and uninterrupted processes. Whether outsourced or operated in-house. However, it is clear that larger companies with many locations, regardless of location size, are particularly suitable for the SD-WAN solution.

Is SD-WAN even available with poor local coverage?

A resounding yes! SD-WAN enables the implementation of site connections via the broadband internet and LTE network. The dynamic SD-WAN feature called “multipath optimization” automatically selects the appropriate transmission path depending on the application and load in order to eliminate performance deficits in advance.

Why SD-WAN?

Digitization, cloud applications (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Office 365, Salesforces) and virtualization often result in large bandwidth requirements. Most WAN constructs consist of a mixture of expensive MPLS connections and Internet connections that are encrypted via IP-Sec. Large MPLS bandwidths are often expensive. The price jump is enormous, especially abroad. With MPLS, which is mainly managed by the carrier, the administration of these structures is inflexible and cost-intensive. Experience shows that IT spends valuable working time maintaining ongoing operations. Nevertheless, a hybrid solution is also possible. Example of a hybrid SD WAN / MPLS solution

Advantages:

  • Significant cost reduction
  • Flexibility in the choice of provider and contract terms
  • Centralized management in real time
  • High level of automation
  • Simple provision of a new location at the touch of a button

Is SD-WAN the same as SD-WAN?

No! The relatively new market is littered with many manufacturers with different focuses. Orientation is still very difficult, as the portfolio of providers varies greatly. Without in-depth market knowledge, it is often easy to become confused. This is exactly where Savecall is the right partner. We will support you and work with you to develop a customized solution!
