A dedicated Internet line is a dedicated Internet connection for companies with guaranteed symmetrical bandwidth (identical bandwidth in upstream and downstream).
This permanently reserved “route to the Internet” is provided explicitly for your company only. There is no risk of “line overbooking” at peak times or forced disconnection, as with conventional Internet products.
A service guarantee is defined in the form of an SLA (Service Level Agreement). This clearly defines the service guarantee in terms of availability per year, bandwidth guarantee and recovery time in the event of a fault.

A leased line is a dedicated, permanently switched data connection between a customer site and the carrier network, or between two sites of one company. Unlike shared internet connections, the full booked bandwidth is exclusively available, symmetric for upload and download. There is no competition with other traffic, no fluctuating performance at peak times and guaranteed SLAs for uptime. Leased lines are usually implemented as fibre, Ethernet or, for smaller bandwidths, as SDSL.
With a leased line, bandwidth is dedicated: you receive 100 percent of the booked data rate at all times, regardless of other customers. With shared internet connections, you share the line with other customers, and actual bandwidth fluctuates depending on network load. Leased lines additionally offer Service Level Agreements for uptime (99.9 to 99.99 percent), latency and mean time to repair. For cloud-first strategies, voice applications or critical business processes, leased lines are the economically sensible choice.
Prices depend on bandwidth, connection technology and location. A 10 Mbit/s leased line costs 200 to 500 euros monthly, 100 Mbit/s range from 500 to 1,500 euros and 1 Gbit/s from 1,500 to 4,000 euros. For 10 Gbit/s, prices range from 3,000 to 8,000 euros depending on location. Add one-time setup fees and possibly civil works. Leased lines are implemented through different technologies depending on bandwidth and availability. Fibre leased lines offer the highest bandwidth from 100 Mbit/s upwards and are the preferred option at main sites. Ethernet leased lines are used for multi-site setups and data centre interconnection. SDSL is used for smaller bandwidths up to 20 Mbit/s on copper infrastructure, for example as backup or at older sites. Wireless point-to-point is a fast alternative without civil works for sites with line of sight. SAVECALL evaluates all options and recommends the most economical solution.
A leased line is worthwhile if you use business-critical cloud applications such as Microsoft 365, AWS or SAP, run VoIP telephony or video conferencing, need high upstream bandwidth for backup, data migration or remote work, or want to reliably connect multiple sites. For companies with regulatory requirements (financial services, healthcare), dedicated connections are usually mandatory. For pure office applications with occasional cloud usage, a high-quality business internet connection is often sufficient.
Provisioning time typically ranges from 8 to 16 weeks for fibre leased lines, depending on in-house wiring and any required civil works. SDSL leased lines are available in 4 to 8 weeks. Ethernet networking between existing carrier sites can often be activated in 6 to 10 weeks.
