Consulting – FAQs
IT and telecom consulting supports companies with strategic decisions around telecommunications, network architecture, cloud sourcing and IT security. Typical services include assessment and analysis of current infrastructure, design of target architectures, carrier selection, RFP management, contract negotiation and project governance. A good consultant is carrier-independent and represents only the client’s interests. SAVECALL has advised as a trusted sourcing advisor since 1999 with access to over 80 carrier partnerships.
External consulting is particularly worthwhile for renewals of large telecom contracts, planned multi-site rollouts, cross-border carrier consolidation, cloud migration, M&A transactions with IT integration or data centre relocations. Internal teams rarely have the market overview of all carriers and tariffs that a specialised consultant provides. For contracts with annual volume above around 50,000 euros, consulting typically pays back within the first 6 months through savings.
RFP management structures the selection of carriers or IT vendors in a transparent and fair process. We create detailed requirement documents (RFP), select suitable vendors, coordinate Q&A phases, compare offers technically and commercially and negotiate final conditions. A professional RFP process typically takes 8 to 16 weeks and leads to 15 to 30 percent better conditions than direct negotiation. SAVECALL handles RFPs end-to-end including contract conclusion.
Consulting services are billed by model: daily rates range from 1,200 to 2,000 euros for senior consultants. Flat-fee projects for RFPs start at 15,000 euros depending on scope. Success-based models are possible, where consulting is paid proportionally from achieved savings. SAVECALL also offers the trusted sourcing advisor model, where consulting is integrated as an ongoing service over the entire contract term. We clarify the right model in the initial conversation.
Contract management continuously monitors all telecom and IT contracts of a company for terms, notice periods, price adjustments, SLA compliance and optimisation potential. Without active management, contracts often run for years even when better conditions are available on the market. SAVECALL maintains a central contract register for clients, gives timely notice of termination deadlines, reviews invoices for plausibility and identifies savings annually. Clients save 15 to 25 percent on average through active contract management.
A data centre relocation is a complex project with high outage risk and affects all telecom and network components. SAVECALL handles the telecom-side project governance: inventory of all carrier connections at the old site, planning of new connections at the target site, coordination of carrier provisioning, migration without downtime through parallel operation and cutover planning. Typical project duration is 6 to 12 months. We work closely with your internal IT team and external data centre providers.
