The challenges of global network management for IT executives

First, the process of global network management is complex to say the least and rarely static. In addition to optimizing performance and transforming to stay competitive, what do you do when you acquire a company through a merger or acquisition? The company may have a completely different infrastructure than the rest of your organization.
Or you have classic networks that are based on MPLS, for example. This means that you are faced with the challenge of decomposing (divesting) the network or integrating it into your larger network. Using the global internet as a backbone, the cloud or SD-WAN/SASE are one way to facilitate this, as they offer a new level of flexibility.
However, you still need to manage multiple (and growing) ISPs with different languages, time zones, billing/currencies, support processes, technologies, etc., making the whole process more and more complicated. Add to that expansion into new regions and different compliance and regulatory requirements, a growing portfolio of ISPs all billing in different currencies or languages, and it gets complicated and time and resource consuming.
These problems can be divided into the following areas:
- Who are your Internet providers?
- What are the specific connectivity requirements for each location?
- Where will your company develop next?
To overcome these network challenges, technology leaders have two options:
- Independent management of Internet connectivity
- Collaboration with Savecall to obtain tangible relief and expertise
Independent coordination of several Internet service providers
Why security frameworks are the foundation of modern IT
Independent coordination of several Internet service providers
With a do-it-yourself (DIY) approach for a multinational company, you need to put in the effort yourself to manage your various Internet service providers. This is what you need to do:
- 1. research each of your ISPs thoroughly: understand each of your ISPs to see if they are reliable in the area or if they have a bad reputation.
- 2. understand your ISP’s networks: you need to know how ISP networks are connected to national, regional and global internet networks and how this affects your cloud applications and WAN technology.
- 3. know what customer service looks like: It is important to know what the average response time is. This is especially true in the event of a connection failure, which can disrupt critical business operations. The provider’s response time is directly related to how quickly you can get your business back up and running.
You also have to take care of SLAs, invoicing, currency differences, different language barriers, etc.
