Zero Trust and Voice AI for companies

Strategically combining network security and intelligent communication

A single blind spot in the IT infrastructure can be enough: Attack surfaces grow unnoticed, proof of compliance is missing and communication data is unprotected. Those who still think separately about security and communication pay the price in both areas.

In a nutshell:

  • Zero trust, quantum-safe encryption and microsegmentation are no longer options, but structural obligations
  • NIS-2 and DORA significantly increase compliance pressure: those who are not prepared risk personal liability
  • Voice AI and meeting intelligence make communication a measurable competitive factor

The solution:
Zero Trust Network Access, Quantum-Safe Encryption and Voice AI create the basis that companies need: for seamless security, verifiable compliance and intelligent communication from a single source.

Read on to find out how companies can strategically combine network security and Voice AI and set up the right infrastructure with SAVECALL.

Explained by experts:

The new threat situation

Why traditional security concepts are no longer sufficient

Corporate IT has changed fundamentally in recent years. Workloads run in the cloud, employees access systems from their home office, SaaS applications proliferate and AI agents communicate automatically via APIs. What used to be protected by a clearly defined network perimeter is now a distributed, open infrastructure with a significantly larger attack surface.

The consequences are measurable: misconfigured cloud workloads lead to open data storage. Stolen VPN access data enables unnoticed data access. Shadow IT through uncontrolled SaaS apps generates unknown data outflows. And automated AI attacks on APIs exploit vulnerabilities before a human can react.

Added to this is the regulatory pressure: NIS-2 and DORA are forcing companies to provide structured proof of security requirements. Security is therefore no longer a marginal technical issue, but the decisive purchasing factor in B2B decisions and often the reason why deals fail or are won.

From Zero Trust to Quantum Safe

The building blocks of modern network security

Modern security architecture is not a product that you buy. It is an attitude. The paradigm shift is: away from implicit trust in the network and towards continuous verification of every access, every device, every identity.

Zero Trust Network Access: Never Trust, Always Verify

ZTNA replaces traditional VPN dial-in with identity-based access control. The principle: every connection is verified and each user only receives the rights they need for their specific task. Lateral movement in the network is thus structurally prevented.

In practice, this means that a standard employee has access to email, Teams and the CRM, but not to admin ports, production systems or infrastructure access. Access is role-based and dependent on the security status of the device used. The same principle applies to IoT devices: IP cameras only communicate with the video management system and the update server. Any other connection is blocked.

ZTNA is no longer an option for companies that have to work in compliance with NIS 2. It is a basic structural requirement.

Quantum-Safe Encryption: The threat that is not yet here, but whose consequences already are

Quantum computers are not yet a widespread attack tool. But data that is transmitted in encrypted form today can be intercepted and decrypted later as soon as powerful quantum computers are available. This “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later” scenario is an active attack strategy of state actors and not a future scenario.

This “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later” scenario is an active attack strategy of state actors and not a future scenario.

Classical encryption is based on mathematical complexity, a problem that quantum computers can solve using their computing principles. The key exchange via Diffie-Hellman is particularly vulnerable: If the key is compromised, encrypted data becomes completely readable.

The answer lies in two complementary approaches: Post-quantum cryptography uses mathematical methods that also withstand quantum computers. Quantum key distribution generates keys based on physical principles and is tamper-proof. Both approaches are already being used in production networks today. NIST published three final standards in 2024 (FIPS 203, 204, 205) and recommends completing the migration by 2030.

Microsegmentation and SD-WAN: protection in depth

Microsegmentation isolates workloads in such a way that a compromised system does not automatically open access to the rest of the infrastructure. Combined with DDoS mitigation, which protects at network, protocol and application level, the result is a multi-layered security concept without a single point of failure.

SD-WAN completes the picture on the connectivity side: dynamic, cloud-optimized connections that automatically adapt to application requirements and network status while simultaneously meeting security and performance requirements.

When communication becomes a strategic advantage

Parallel to the security transformation, corporate communication is undergoing an equally fundamental shift. Language remains the most natural communication channel, especially for complex or time-critical topics. However, what becomes of a conversation has changed fundamentally.

Voice AI is driving automation and integration to a level that was unthinkable just a few years ago: conversations are analyzed in real time, decisions are documented, action points are automatically assigned and customer interactions are intelligently evaluated. The result is measurably lower costs, higher employee productivity and a better customer experience.

Meeting Intelligence: Turning conversations into usable knowledge

A common problem in companies: Decisions are made in meetings, but not consistently documented. Meeting intelligence solutions solve this problem structurally. Meetings are automatically recorded, transcribed and enriched with AI-generated summaries, action points and speaker assignments, all searchable, stored centrally and securely in their own memory.

Integration with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex and Genesys makes deployment seamless. Crucially, data sovereignty remains with the company. Content is stored locally, a point that becomes directly relevant under NIS 2 requirements.

Speaker ID functions automatically identify conversation partners, while keyword recognition makes transcripts searchable. This saves time, increases traceability and creates the knowledge base that distributed teams need.

Conversational AI and contact centers: Reaching customers more intelligently

Customer experience is the new field of differentiation in B2B competition. Whoever reaches customers faster, more intelligently and more consistently wins. Conversational AI enables AI-supported interactions via voice, chat and digital channels simultaneously, as an AI-first contact center that can be integrated into existing UC infrastructures without having to replace them completely.

Session Border Controllers form the technical basis as the certified heart of the voice infrastructure, connecting PSTN, VoIP, Cloud PBX and all common UC platforms. They can be used virtually, as an appliance or physically and are scalable from small to very large environments.

Why network security and voice AI need to be considered together

Zero Trust meets Voice AI:
Why separation is risky today

Security and communication are still treated as separate areas of responsibility in many companies: IT security here, UC infrastructure there. This separation has always been artificial. Today it is risky.

Voice AI services generate sensitive communication data that must be protected. Meeting recordings and call transcripts are highly relevant for proof of compliance under NIS-2. And the session border controller, the heart of modern voice communication, is also a security-relevant network component that must follow zero trust principles.
