A Point of Presence (PoP) is a node within a network that enables connections between two or more communication networks. The provider Colt has opened a new PoP in Interxion’s Marseille data center. This serves as a gateway to Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Several important submarine cables connecting the continents end at the data center. This enables Colt to offer companies the opportunity to establish fast point-to-point Ethernet connections. The new PoP is part of a new European optical express network. Colt offers companies the opportunity to use it:
