EthernetConnect 2.0 – Features
Class of Service
- Standard: non-time-critical traffic, e.g. emails
- Critical: business-critical traffic, e.g. financial transactions
- Priority: runtime-critical traffic, e.g. video
- Premium: small packages with very short runtimes, e.g. voice traffic
- Additionally 6 mixing profiles for EVCs in the EVPL version
CoS profiles and flexible bandwidths
- Connection bandwidths: 2, 4, 8, 20 MBit/s as well as 1 and 10 GBit/s
- EVC bandwidths: 1, 2, 4, 8, 20, 40, 100, 200, 400 and 1,000 MBit/s
- Maximum of 80 EVCs per connection
- Connection between different connections
- Multipoint-to-multipoint possible thanks to flexibly switchable connections
- CoS (Class of Service) selectable for all EVCs
- Fault clearance within 8 hours

EPL or EVPL?
EthernetConnect 2.0 offers individual, flexible networks consisting of EVC (Ethernet Virtual Connection) and connection. EVCs can be created as EPL (Ethernet Private Line) or EVPL (Ethernet Virtual Private Line). EPL as a port-based EVC always requires a UNI (User-Network-Interface). EVPL is a VLAN-based EVC between UNI and UNI, which distributes the bandwidth to the VLANs in the company. Up to 80 EVPLs are possible per connection.
