ecotel communication ag has received a major order from Sanacorp, one of the leading pharmaceutical wholesalers, for networked corporate communications in the form of an MPLS-based Virtual Private Network (VPN). With a nationwide network of 17 regional branches in Germany, Sanacorp is one of the leading companies in the pharmaceutical wholesale sector. Around 7,500 connected pharmacies are supplied quickly and reliably with the medicines and healthcare products they need several times a day. Sanacorp ‘s central requirement was to design a future-proof high-performance fiber optic network. At the same time, the fixed network telephony of the existing primary multiplex (PMX) system connections at all locations was to be converted to the new all-IP technology as part of a smooth migration. The specialist ICT consultancy Savecall from Munich was commissioned to search for a high-quality provider to set up a virtual private network (VPN) and migrate the fixed-line telephony. After comprehensive evaluations, especially with regard to fiber optic availability, ecotel was assessed as a suitable provider for Sanacorp.
Andreas Marreck, ICT expert at Savecall telecommunication consulting GmbH, is convinced: “ecotel’s multi-carrier concept is unique and enables the greatest possible site development with fiber optics in Germany. This provides our renowned key accounts with fail-safe and future-proof solutions.” For the realization of the new corporate network, all locations were connected with Ethernet lines and merged in the form of an MPLS-based VPN data network. Increased redundancy was achieved with a double fiber optic connection at each location: both the primary data lines and the back-up connections run entirely via fiber optic cable and thus provide high stability in terms of reliability. In addition to a general PMX backup, LTE is also used as an additional backup solution for the new PMX NGN voice connections. Oliver Anspach, Head of IT System Management / IT Infrastructure at Sanacorp, explains: “With the new ecotel network, we have jointly introduced a technologically high-quality and future-proof solution into live operation. With maximum reliability for an uninterrupted data supply. The new NGN voice connections from ecotel have transported our PMXers safely into the digital age without us having to invest in new telecommunications systems.” Is your company also looking for an MPLS solution or is it about to migrate from PMX to All IP?
