What is DeutschlandLAN SIP Trunk?

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions about DeutschlandLAN SIP Trunk
DeutschlandLAN SIP Trunk was Deutsche Telekom’s IP-based system connection for medium-sized and large companies, replacing classic ISDN connections with a connection over the internet. It gave companies more flexibility in the number of parallel calls, HD voice quality and a fixed IP address. Telekom has since technically evolved the product and continued it under the name CompanyFlex (SIP Trunk); the underlying function as an IP-based connection has stayed the same.
DeutschlandLAN SIP Trunk is no longer actively sold by Deutsche Telekom. New customers today order CompanyFlex (SIP Trunk), and existing customers have been or are being migrated step by step through a product switch. Existing hardware can usually still be used, though a software update is sometimes required. SAVECALL helps assess whether a switch is due and what conditions are currently achievable on the market.
ISDN uses fixed physical lines with a set number of channels, such as S0 with 2 or S2M with 30 channels. A SIP trunk, by contrast, runs entirely over the existing internet line, scales flexibly in channel count, and supports modern features such as HD voice, video calls and integration with cloud services. This lets companies adjust capacity to actual demand quickly, without laying new lines.
Actual costs depend on the number of channels, the tariff model, and any booked add-ons such as bandwidth upgrades. Historically, basic packages for two parallel calls were priced in the mid-double-digit euro range per month, plus options for additional channels. Since price lists and product names have changed with the switch to CompanyFlex, we recommend a current, no-obligation cost check rather than relying on historical pricing.
In most cases, yes. Many telephone systems are already SIP-capable or can be connected via a session border controller, so a complete replacement usually isn’t necessary. When switching to CompanyFlex, we check whether existing hardware can still be used or only needs a software update. A new, SIP-compatible system is only required in exceptional cases.
As a carrier-neutral sourcing partner, SAVECALL compares SIP trunk offers from various providers, including Deutsche Telekom with CompanyFlex, Vodafone, Colt and further providers from its own partner network. Through the procurement pool, conditions below list price are negotiated, and SAVECALL also supports number porting, contract management and the technical switch-over, so companies can make the change without downtime.
