An IP VPN is a private network that is based on a shared IP-based backbone of a telecommunications network. 1&1 Versatel began streamlining its product portfolio back in December 2016. Starting in May 2017, two Versatel Voice Business products will also be merged. The previous products VT voice and Office speed&voice will be unified into the product 1&1 Voice Business. 1&1 Voice Business is a Voice + Internet bundle product, which is mainly due to the imminent ISDN switch-off. As telephony now runs over IP – i.e. via the Internet – 1&1 is offering its voice product in combination with a 50 Mbit/s DSL line. It is offered in the following variants:
- ISDN multi-device connection
- ISDN TC system connection (S0 and S2M)
- SIP TC system connection
