With landing points in 24 countries along the West African coast, ACE opens up some of the continent&#8217;s fastest growing digital markets and provides the primary international cable connection for many of these countries. 17,000 kilometers that has connected France with 24 countries along the West African coast down to South Africa since December 2012. For seven countries, including Gambia, Guinea, Liberia, Mauritania and Sierra Leone, ACE was the first international submarine cable connection ever. The system was built by Alcatel Submarine Networks (ASN) and realized by a consortium led by Orange together with regional telecommunications companies, with a total investment of around 700 million US dollars.
